Dr. Wijesinghe, could you provide a simple explanation of what breast cancer is?
Certainly. Breast cancer is when healthy breast cells turn into abnormal cancer cells that grow uncontrollably and form tumors. It is the most common cancer among females worldwide, including Sri Lanka. This disease can affect women of all ages, although it is commonly diagnosed in those over 40.
