Beyond your formal training in corporate accountancy, what early life experiences or personal passions truly shaped your eye for aesthetics and care?

Although I learned and practised in corporate accountancy, my creative side had been nurtured from a very young age. My parents always encouraged me to explore that side of myself, and I was naturally drawn to making things with my hands and learning different crafts. Growing up in the 1980s, being resourceful and creating things yourself was simply part of everyday life, and I found great joy in it.
My years of learning Bharatanatyam, veena and Carnatic music also introduced me to another side of beauty and presentation. Performing meant learning to prepare myself, from grooming to make-up. And when I began taking part in solo performances outside of school-back when I was doing my high school studies in India-I had to learn to do my own make-up. I had no formal training at the time, but I found that I picked it up naturally and enjoyed experimenting with it, often practising on friends as well. Looking back, I think those early experiences quietly shaped the way I see beauty today. I have always enjoyed the creative process, but I have been equally interested in the care, precision and confidence that comes with it. That eventually led me to cosmetology, where I found a way to bring together my creativity with the discipline and professionalism of my formal education.
