International Children’s Day which falls on the 1st of October every year, offers us an opportunity to promote and celebrate children’s rights that will not only build a better world for them, but also create a beautiful society in future.

The theme for this year’s International children’s day is, “Inclusion, for every child”. This is an important theme because it emphasises that a child belonging to any society, community or nationality is entitled to equal rights. It also highlights the eradication of discrimination among children across various civilizations in the world. This Children’s Day, as there will be discussions about discrimination and equality around the world, let us look at some of the lessons we can teach children from their younger age so that they will grow into open-minded, rational and empathatic adults and eventually create a more understanding society in future.
