Felicitation for Teachers by Vishaka ‘83 batch

9 September 2015 12:56 pm   On a bright Sunday morning, the 12th of July 2015, Visakha Vidyalaya ’83 Batch (ALs done in 1983) felicitated their teachers who taught the batch from Year 1 to 12 spanning a period of twelve years from 1971-1983. This was an opportunity the batch was waiting for, to appreciate the tireless efforts of these wonderful ladies. The timing of the event was significant for the batch as this year the batch is celebrating a milestone birthday with a series of events that kicked off with a mega birthday bash the previous Saturday. At this momentous juncture the batch felt it was fitting to share their joy with their teachers and in what better place than at their alma mater!   The school old hall was spruced up to give a festive outlook. A Calypso band played familiar tunes and a birthday cake was cut. valuable prizes and giveaways were given to the teachers, followed by a scrumptious lunch for all.The ’83 Group from all parts of the island and across the globe attended this “not to be missed” function.More than fifty past teachers attended the function and they thoroughly enjoyed this special occasion.The Batch also took the opportunity to contribute handsomely to the VV Past Teachers’ Medical Guild and to the Old School Hall Development Fund, from the generous contributions by the ’83 alumni.
