Italian Embassy promotes ‘Healthy and Sustainable diets’ on World Food Day

The Embassy of Italy in Colombo, along with the Ministry of Tourism and Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), recently held a conference to mark World Food Day 2019.
With World Food Day celebrated on October 16, 2019, the occasion elaborated on the Mediterranean diet and Italian Food, with the timely theme of ‘healthy and sustainable diets’. With the participation of Italian Celebrity Chef Rubio, the benefits of the Mediterranean diet was examined with an eminent panel of local experts consisting of Chefs Guild President Gerard Mendis, Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (SLITHM) Culinary Senior Lecturer Chef Nishantha Kulatunga, Ministry of Health’s Dr. Renuka Jayatissa and Guest Moderator and GourmandKumar Mirchandani.
