But to control, to think twice about eating meat and look for alternatives may sound time-consuming. Going vegan has become a trending debate in Sri Lanka and around the world. People are of different views but there are some who really want to make a change. For most vegans, it’s about clean eating and having a guilt-free diet. They want to save animals, while others have experienced changes after they gave up dairy products. One may question how they are meeting the daily protein, Calcium requirement that the body needs. But for them, it’s possible. With that in mind, the Lanka Woman spoke to a few vegans in Sri Lanka who shared how they became vegan, changes they observed in themselves and how they feel about their vegan experience today.
