Craving a tropical treat? This easy homemade mango ice cream recipe is your ticket to creamy, fruity bliss. With just a few ingredients and simple steps, you can create a refreshing dessert that captures the vibrant flavor of ripe mangoes. Here’s an easy homemade mango ice cream recipe that you can make without an ice cream maker. This recipe uses simple ingredients and doesn’t require much effort.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large ripe mangoes (or 2 cups mango puree)
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

  • Peel and chop 2 large ripe mangoes; blend into a smooth puree (about 2 cups).
  • In a large mixing bowl, whip 2 cups of heavy whipping cream with an electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form (about 3-4 minutes).
  • Gently fold 1 can (14 ounces) of sweetened condensed milk into the whipped cream using a spatula until well combined.
  • Add the mango puree to the cream mixture and fold until fully incorporated.
  • Optionally, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix well.
  • Pour the mango ice cream mixture into a lidded container or a loaf pan.
  • Cover with plastic wrap or the container lid and freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight until solid.
  • When ready to serve, let the ice cream sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften slightly, then scoop and enjoy.

Tips:

  • For a smoother texture, you can strain the mango puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove any fibrous bits.
  • If you like chunks of mango in your ice cream, reserve some of the chopped mango pieces and fold them into the mixture before freezing.
  • This recipe can be customized with add-ins like coconut flakes or a swirl of mango puree for extra flavor and texture.
