Digitalized Societies Pivotal Roles In Parenting

Trust vs. Discipline – that’s the new order of parenting in this age. “I trust my child. She won’t do anything without telling me.” This is the mantra of parents who have faced authoritarian parenting in their own childhood and youth. The gates are thrown wide open with trust. Is this acceptable? We will not know for sure. You will witness the results only after the children have become young adults. Children are developing themselves psychosocially within a truly digitized society, resulting in traits and trends that have not yet been adequately understood by society nor described by academia.

To research this area Sri Lanka must first accept that early childhood education and development does not end at the age of 5. Parents buying digital devices for their young children must understand that imagery has a strong impact on the young brain. When introduced early children lose interest in the real world and begin the process of addiction.
