In a world where only a handful of women continue to learn mathematics and engineering as part of their higher education, Lakmini thrives in the world of mathematics and computer engineering.
Lakmini is the youngest daughter of late Professor Stanley Wijesundera, Prof. of Bio-Chemistry and the first Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo (1979), who brought the University to what it is today, Professor Wijesundera, an Oxford University graduate was instrumental in guiding Lakmini with his sound advice. And then, Lakmini believes that she inherited her risk gene from her mother Anoja Wijesundera who comes from an entrepreneurial and political family.
