Founder of Women in Management (WIM), being the Voice for Women Unheard, and fighting for justice and equal rights for Women in the Work Place and at Home.
Here’s a Woman who has beaten all odds and risen above them all herself. Empowering Women in Sri Lanka has been her norm, and she has done it. Recognising Women in Management positions and encouraging more women to take up senior decision-making positions, she believes that women who carry out hard labour, housework and rearing children, taking everyday burdens are not recognised or compensated by society and neither do they seek recognition. And she strongly believes that as Asian mothers, we should not raise our sons to be molly-coddled, “Sometimes as women we build our own barriers. Cultures are built by women. Sons are brought up by mothers who put ideas about culture and etc. to their minds forgetting that one day he is going to use that against a woman.”
