Sri Lankan Aviation College (SLAC) is the apex professional training institution in Sri Lanka that offers the full range of qualifications covering all areas of the aviation industry under the banner of the national carrier Srilankan Airlines. The college offers not only extremely well qualified faculty with hoards of industry experience in core operational areas, they also provide internationally and locally accredited practical training, state of the art training tools and environment, and the special advantage of practical training being carried out at the Bandaranaike International Airport, under the banner of the national carrier.
Certifications of SLAC include prestigious bodies such as European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), International Air Transport Association (IATA), Travel Agents Association of Sri Lanka (TAASL), as well as the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport of Sri Lanka, Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), Civil Aviation Authority Male, Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan and the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM). In this field, these accreditations make the difference between finding employment or not.
The single most important factor which drives the college is the demand for quality professionals from the industry. Not only in terms of the technology involved, but also because at an average height of about 50,000 feet above sea level, carrying an average weight of about 70 (A320) - 240 (A330) tonnes, you can't tick 'maybe' for safety.
