Little Makers 2014 Art and Crafts Exhibition

First Steps to Learning, Montessori House of children presented “Little Makers 2014” Arts and Crafts Exhibition recently at the school premises in Kotte. Devika Nanayakkara was Chief Guest for the exhibition.
The first year class teacher Thanuja Ollegasegrem explained the hand work done by the children in the age group of 2-3 years. Their hand work was done using egg shells, coconut refuse, sand, madatiya seeds, saw dust etc.

- Paper plate bear
- Tissue paper hats
- Hand print T-shirts
The second year class teacher Neluka Pathirana explained the work done by children in the age group of 3-4 years using coconut shells, toilet paper rolls, empty milk cartons. Following are some of the exhibits done using the above.
- Toilet paper roll train
- Milk carton vase
- Coconut pencil holders
The third year students in the age group of 4-5 years did the following items. The class is headed by Maljini Wettasinha who is also the Directress of the school.
Toilet paper roll octopus, empty cheese box, jewellery box, wrapping paper bag, clay mould.
