Glimpses of Tradition Jewels of Asia

The SAARC Women’s Association, Sri Lanka Chapter, presented Jewels of Asia, an exquisite celebration of heritage and craftsmanship from the eight SAARC countries which included Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri-Lanka. The SAARC nations, with their rich and diverse cultural heritages showcased each country’s ethnic jewellery in a spectacular show.
The evening showcased the brilliant jewellery and clothing traditions of the regions, with some of the models being  who  medical students studying in Sri Lanka. The show which kept the audience entranced throughout was choreographed by Lou Ching Wong, creating an unforgettable experience and an exquisite evening at the Grand Ballroom, Hilton Colombo. The proceeds from the show will go to the District General Hospital in Negombo in aid of medical equipment.
