Dr. Harini Amarasuriya appointed new Prime Minister of Sri Lanka

Dr. Harini Amarasuriya was sworn in as the new Prime Minister of Sri Lanka in the National People's Power (NPP) government. Dr. Amarasuriya has taken on the Ministries of Justice, Education, Labour, Industries, Science & Technology, Health, and Investments as the new Minister. She is the third female Prime Minister of Sri Lanka and marks a significant milestone in the country in a mainly male dominated political platform.
