What’s in a Wedding Checklist?

Planning your wedding, whether it’s a year or a few months away can be stressful. From finding a venue to planning the outfits to décor and meals can be a tiring process. But a simple checklist is all you need to plan a one-of-a-kind wedding.

The dates

Most traditional Sri Lankan families consult astrologers to find the auspicious dates for a wedding. The wedding planning begins once the dates have been fixed.

The budget

This is perhaps the most important part of your big day. With a rough budget in mind you can decide on the guests, dresses, Jewellery, décor and the venue. One option is to sit with your better half and discuss about your plan and how both of you want your big day to happen. Another option is to consult a wedding planner who would advise you on the most important elements in a wedding. But the first step to planning your wedding is planning your budget.  

Outfits 

Once the budget has been finalized the immediate requirement is planning the outfits. If you’re looking at one designer for the outfits of the bride, groom and the entourage he/she needs a couple of months to stitch all outfits to perfection. This is followed by fit-ons and trials for which the entire team should attend without fail. Sometimes there can be changes you could suggest and have your dream outfit on your big day if the designs and measurements are given way ahead of the wedding day.
