Last month we gave you an insight in to the United Arab Emirates and our focus is still in Abu Dhabi known mainly for the many interesting sights you can visit as well as because it is the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Yas Island
The most popular and visited area is the Yas Island which is a man -made compound and can be visited by car, plane or boat. It is stated that the project was initiated in 2006 in phases and is due to be completed in 2018 with the aim of turning the island into a multi-purpose leisure, shopping and entertainment center which basically has something for everyone in the family. It was named as the world’s leading tourism project at the World Travel Awards in 2009. It is a travel destination which caters to the business, leisure and even the sports traveler/enthusiast. The Yas Marina Circuit has hosted the Formula One Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix since 2009. In order to get tickets or passes which are valid for a period of time you can even go on the internet and book it before you get there to make things fast.
Ferrari World
This is a magnificent park which could be enjoyed by people of all ages. The world’s fastest rollercoaster reaching a speed of 240kph is one of the most famous attractions. It is a mere dream come true experience when you walk into the beautifully designed indoor park which houses a shopping mall with all the leading brands and varied dining options to quick bites, buffet style, table service or concession stand. The special Ferrari souvenir shop has everything desired by a collector of the most fabulous items. You can even get your own photograph at the special booth but an entrance fee will be charged from everyone including kids. All rides and attractions are determined according to the height of a person.
You can go behind the scenes, live the triumphs, feel the passion and surround yourself in the beauty of Italy and experience every facet of the Ferrari story. The kids could have a total different experience as the Ferrari magic comes to life and they could be the junior pilots behind the wheel. If you are one of those who want to feel the thrills first hand then you are at the right place and can take up the challenge to let your adrenaline rush.
Interesting details :
- It is stated that the gross footprint area of the plaza level is equivalent to approximately 15 American Football fields.
- Formula Rossa, the world’s fastest roller coaster, has the same G force one would feel driving in an F1 car and braking at maximum speed.
- Bell’Italia displays more than 40,000 hand-planted miniature trees.
- Ferrari World Abu Dhabi includes 1,200 dining seats – enough to feed the entire park at full capacity in 3 hours.
- Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, for the first time ever, houses Four Michelin star experienced Italian chefs under one roof.
- There is a total of 663 jelly palms surrounding the two coasters. Each palm produces 4 pounds of fruit.
Yas Marina Circuit
The full circuit can be configured in five different ways to accommodate a variety of motorsports events. It is the only motorsports venue in the world that offers covered and shaded grandstands throughout the facility along with unique pit lanes that run partially beneath the track.
Yas Waterworld
An experience like never before, is how I would like to describe this great outdoor park. It ranks second best waterpark in the world by the Los Angeles Times Global ranking of the world’s top 20 water parks in May 2013. In the same year it also received the World Travel Awards award for the Middle East’s Leading Tourist Attraction of the Year. Bubbles’ Barrel slide has the largest sur-able sheet wave surf in the world.
Yas Island Beaches
It is quite a breath taking view when you look at the beautiful and tranquil blue waters on the soft sandy shores of Abu Dhabi. You can either stay at a hotel close by or visit some of the extremely unique private beaches by paying a reasonable sum as a guest.
