A trek through Ritigala Mountain

In addition to that this area situated in the North Central province also includes various sites that require careful exploring. One of these sites is the Ritigala Mountain. During a recent visit to Habarana we spent some time exploring this destination associated with many myths and legends. The drive towards this archaeological site through thick greenery and unspoilt landscape was rather soothing. Spanning 1528 acres, the mountain and the surrounding nature reserve bears testament to the careful preservation that has been done.
