5 September 2018 02:45 pm Words : Indika Madapatha Sellahewa Photos : Damindha Harsha Perera When The Marriott Resort Weligama Bay celebrated completion of their first year in Sri Lanka, Lanka Woman was invited to experience their unparalleled hospitality for two days.  As we descended from the coach in Weligama, we were greeted by the friendly and welcoming staff. The hotel had organised a truly Sri Lankan lunch for us laid out in clay earthenware pots which was amazing. Afterwards we were shown to our rooms which were mesmerising, with its breath-taking ocean views, decor and the sheer size of the room. After lunch we met General Manager of the hotel Elton Hurtis who has a unique way of managing his hotel. Elton, from Delhi, India, moved to Sri Lanka with his young family before The Marriott Group started operating the Marriott Weligama Bay Resort and has been here for two years. As soon as he set eyes on the Bay of Weligama in the Southern Coast of Sri Lanka, he was mesmerised by its beauty.
