World Mental Health Day falls on tenth October

It was his first heart attack. Perhaps he needed to change his lifestyle and include diet and exercise into his daily routine. How many of us lead a healthy life without being subject to stress? The World Health Organisation (WHO) has decreed that health is not just the absence of disease. Mental Health is the level of psychological well-being or an absence of mental illness. It is the state of someone who is functioning at a satisfactory level of emotional and behavioural adjustment. Perhaps it is time for each one of us to sit back and analyse our emotions and our way of life. Our attitude and outlook need a change. Sri Lanka also has a high rate of suicide especially among the young. Usually, the first attempt at suicide is a cry for help that he or she is suffering.
