Caring for your self is not a chore but a duty and a responsibility to have to yourself. It’s one of the most important aspects of your life. What is the use of having beautiful homes, successful careers and well grown up kids if you are not fit and healthy to enjoy these perks.

  • “I have no Time” is the world’s greatest excuse to avoid things because you are lazy.
  •  “My children take all my time” is the excuse given by those who do not want to delegate, but control the children and family.
  •  “I am very busy” is the common complaint given by women who do not know how to plan their day and prioritize.
  •  I am now married” “Now I have children” are excuses given by those who never had respect for themselves or understood their self worth.
Personal care and beauty treatments to oneself are an important lifestyle. Maintain a simple, manageable, regular beauty regime that helps you look good at all times.

Morning- Beauty Etiquette

Always begin the day with a fresh head bath or a body wash.
  • No matter what time of the day it is, 4 am or 10 am, brush your teeth, use a face wash on the face and neck, use a suitable shampoo & conditioner for your hair using soap or shower gel of your choice, give your body a good wash that will rejuvenate you for the whole day.
  •  It is important to use a conditioner after cleansing the hair with shampoo. Make sure the conditioner is applied only to the hair shaft and not to the scalp. Leave it for 4-5 minutes and rinse out.
  •  Scrub your feet and soles with a good brush to remove the dead skin and get rid of the cracks that appear on the soles.
Complete the wash, wipe yourself dry. 2
  • Apply moisturizing lotion to the body and suitable day cream to the face and neck.
  •  Apply deodorant under the arms to guarantee that you will not smell of body odour during the day
  •  Always wear fresh clean clothes even to the house. Nothing is more pleasing than a well groomed lady of the house.

Beauty Etiquette - During the day

  • Drink minimum of 10 glasses of water a day
  • An average person needs at least 30 minutes of body movement a day. Hence make sure you walk even the shortest distances, try to do your daily tasks such as going to the shop (walking), washing the car, cleaning your room, climbing the stairs (not use the lift for one or two floors) etc that will give you sufficient daily movement to keep the body fit, supple and healthy.
  • Find the time to do 3 to 5 minutes of deep breathing.
  •  Make sure you include at least one fruit and two vegetables to your daily food intake.

Beauty Etiquette - Before bedtime

  • Brush your teeth and wash your body completely to get rid of the sweat and grime collected during the day.
  • Make sure a suitable face wash is used to clean the face and neck
  •  Apply body lotion to the body (especially hands and feet)
  •  Apply a suitable night cream or a moisturizer to the face and neck
  •  Wear clean comfortable night clothes

Weekly Routine

Hair Style

Be smart. Identify your lifestyle, hair type and fashion options and visit a good hair stylist and get a suitable style created. This hair cut should be easy to set, within a few minutes and make you look your best. If you have long hair, do not allow it to hang listlessly on your back. Ask a stylist to teach you a simple hair style and learn to do it yourself in a few minutes.

Nails

4 Give your nails special attention once a week. Cut the nails to the desired shape and clean them thoroughly. If the nails are painted, toe nails need to be repainted weekly, and finger nails, as often as necessary. Never wear chipped nail polish.

Skin & Body

Skin should be scrubbed once a week. Select a good body scrub and apply during the bath. At the same time a scrub could be applied to the face and skin. Remove unwanted hair in the body upper lip, eye brows, under arms, hands & legs.

 Make up

No one knows your face and features better than you. Learn to use make up daily. As little as it may be, according to your professional activities, use make up to highlight your pretty features and minimize those less attractive. Use make up sparingly during the day. Selecting colours that suit your skin is very important. Get professional help to select the foundation & powder. Eye makeup should not run, giving a tired black eyed look.

Clothes

Secret of good grooming is to have a collection of suitable, well tailored clothes that could be mixed and matched, well fitting, durable and in colours that compliment your skin.

Never shop carelessly. Always purchase only the clothes that suit you. Learn to be organized and make sure you select tonight, the clothes that you will wear tomorrow. This way you will always be well groomed with no surprises and last minute disasters.
