The Love Story of the Season and A Fairytale Wedding in England

Anusha Dias  is a a nationally recognised specialist consultant gynaecologist living and working in the UK. She comes from a family of doctors and is the great niece of V.A. Sugathadasa. Narendra Patel, known to his friends as Naren, is of modest Indian heritage and was born in Kenya. As a teenager he moved to UK with his family. He set up his first business aged 20 years and emigrated to Australia in the late 90’s. He has business interests in South East Asia as well as Australia and New Zealand and divides his time between these two countries. Whilst Naren was holidaying in the UK last year, he was introduced to Anusha by mutual friends. They hit it off immediately and tried to spend as much time together as possible during his short stay. On his return to New Zealand, the romance continued across continents on other sides of the world.  Due to the time difference, they would get up early and go to bed late at night so that they could speak to each other every day, talking for hours on end. Soon that was not enough, and they arranged to meet in Dubai.  Naren had arranged a special sunset helicopter ride  for Anusha which landed on the roof of the Burj Al Arab hotel. There, to Anusha’s complete surprise,  going down on one knee, three months to the day when they first met, Naren asked her to marry him and she said yes.
